About Us:

Romulus Digital is a technology company supporting regional and international organisations through digital transformation, enterprise applications, AI-enabled solutions, and specialised technology services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Server and Application Administrator to administer, secure, and optimise the server, cloud, and application environments that support our clients' day-to-day business operations, spanning on-premises Windows infrastructure, virtualisation platforms, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure.

Job Description:

As a Server and Application Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server and application environments, ensuring they remain stable, secure, available, and well documented.

You will work closely with the Network and Cybersecurity Engineer, service desk, project teams, vendors, and client stakeholders to maintain agreed service levels, resolve incidents, and support infrastructure changes.

The role requires strong capabilities in Windows Server administration, Active Directory and Group Policy, Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, virtualisation, backup and disaster recovery, storage management, performance monitoring, system hardening, patch management, and infrastructure documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including server roles, features, and supporting services.

  • Manage Active Directory services, including users, groups, computer objects, organisational units, and access permissions.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in line with approved configuration and security standards.

  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenant services and configurations, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, licensing, and identity-related settings.

  • Administer Microsoft Azure resources and services, including virtual machines, storage, networking components, identity integration, and resource governance.

  • Manage virtualisation platforms and virtual machine infrastructure, including provisioning, resource allocation, snapshots, and host maintenance.

  • Implement, operate, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery systems, monitor backup job outcomes, and conduct regular restoration tests to validate recovery readiness.

  • Manage storage infrastructure and monitor storage capacity and utilisation, raising and actioning capacity requirements ahead of constraints.

  • Monitor server performance and proactively identify and address performance, availability, and capacity issues before they affect service delivery.

  • Administer relevant network devices and troubleshoot connectivity issues in coordination with the Network and Cybersecurity Engineer.

  • Apply approved system-hardening standards and manage security patching schedules, including testing, deployment, and verification of patches across server and application environments.

  • Respond to, investigate, and resolve incidents and service requests relating to servers and applications within agreed service levels, escalating significant issues to service delivery or senior management where necessary.

  • Support infrastructure changes through the change-management process, including impact assessment, implementation planning, and rollback planning.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation, including configuration records, server and system diagrams, standard operating procedures, and recovery runbooks.

  • Drive the ongoing optimisation of server and application environments, recommending improvements to performance, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.

  • Prepare periodic reports on system health, capacity, backup status, and patch compliance for service delivery and management review.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in Windows Server, systems, or infrastructure administration within an enterprise or managed-services environment.

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Strong hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.

  • Proven experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects.

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 tenant services and Microsoft Azure resources.

  • Experience managing virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Experience implementing and operating backup and disaster recovery solutions, including restoration testing and recovery validation.

  • Experience with storage infrastructure (SAN, NAS, or cloud storage) and capacity management.

  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and VPN.

  • Experience applying system-hardening standards and managing patching schedules across server environments.

  • Experience using server and infrastructure monitoring tools to track performance, availability, and capacity.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational reports.

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and non-technical users.

  • Candidates must be available to work on a shift or roster basis, including weekends and Singapore Public Holidays, and to support after-hours maintenance windows and incident response where required by operational needs.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/AZ-801), or Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102) would be beneficial.

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualisation certification would be advantageous.

  • Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Azure Backup, Commvault, or equivalent platforms.

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Entra Connect, Intune, and Conditional Access.

  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or equivalent tools.

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or equivalent platforms.

  • Knowledge of ITIL or structured service-management environments; ITIL Foundation certification would be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with security baselines and frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks or Microsoft security baselines, and with relevant Singapore regulatory requirements such as the PDPA.

  • Experience supporting clients under service-level agreements in a managed-services or outsourced IT environment will be preferred.

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to manage and optimise hybrid infrastructure across on-premises, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.

  • Exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled technology initiatives.

  • Work directly with network, cybersecurity, project, and service-delivery stakeholders.

  • Competitive compensation aligned with infrastructure administration experience and capabilities.

  • Opportunity to strengthen expertise in cloud administration, automation, and infrastructure security.

  • Collaborative, regional working environment with opportunities for career growth within Romulus Digital.
