The Server Assistant’s main functions are to provide a unique and memorable dining experience through professionalism, food and beverage knowledge and attentiveness to all guests. The Server Assistant is responsible for assisting the Servers in all aspects of the guests’ dining experience from beginning to end through prompt and polite service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform all operational functions as a Server and Server Assistant
    • Ensure all service stations are stocked and replenished
    • Provide service to tables within a station as determined by management
    • Clear and reset tables
    • Assist Servers by refilling guests beverages, providing guests with food items and condiments, or clean tableware as needed
    • Maintain working knowledge of the menu
    • Remove full tubs from service stations and place them in the dishwashing area for cleaning
    • Polish and maintain glassware and silverware for use
    • Sweep floors throughout shift to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive restaurant
    • Vacuum carpet areas and mop hard floors as necessary
    • Maintain side-work including but not limited to folding napkins, etc.
  • Ensures that all menu items served meet the established specifications and standards
  • Drive food and beverage sales through exceptional and consistent service and genuine hospitality
  • Assist with the organization of the service stations, maintain deliveries and cleanliness of areas
  • Promote teamwork and interact with employees in a fair and professional manner
  • Maintenance and cleanliness of all service and dining areas
  • Maintain knowledge and practice the company’s mission and vision, policies and procedures, and employee handbook
  • Communicate all service related, issues, concerns and innovations with Service Manager
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe and healthy work environment
  • Be a role model and lead by example in terms of professionalism, positive attitude, taking initiative, work ethic, work performance, etc.
  • Knowledge of the menu; food and beverages
  • Responsible for building dining clientele
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs and offer assistance before the guest’s request for it
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, attitude in the workplace
  • Provide exception guest service through clear communication, highest level of service and professionalism
  • Other duties as assigned
