Shipping & Receiving Team Member
Summary:
Prepares items for shipment and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloads and stacks material using forklift
- Loads or unloads materials both with forklift and by hand up to 50 lbs
- Replaces liquefied gas tank
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items or incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.
- Affixes shipping labels on steel
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Prepares customer bills of lading
- Stages finished product for shipment based on shipping schedule
- Loads finished product onto flatbed trucks for delivery to customers
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Maintains clean workspace
- Perform other related duties as required

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Travel
- This position requires minimal to no travel
Computer Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn an ERP system
Other Requirements
- Forklift Experience

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret written documents
- Use and read a tape measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
