Shipping and Receiving Team Member - Porter Corp

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for quality of product before final shipment
2. Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
3. Supports, participates and encourages team building
4. Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments and the supervisor
5. Promotes a positive work environment
6. Follow all of Porter Corp’s procedures and policies
7. Work safely and efficiently
8. Stay customer focused
9. Periodic deliveries and pick ups
10. Able to lift 50 pounds
11. Perform other duties as assigned
12. Help other departments as needed

Education and/or Experience

1. This position requires knowledge of product packaging methods to ensure safe and secure shipments to meet customer requirements
2. Working knowledge of flatbed packing for safe loads
3. Flexibility with scheduled hours to accommodate shipping and receiving needs
4. Work requires high school diploma or equivalent

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Other Requirements

1. Good communication skills
2. CDL or willing to obtain CDL
3. Very good interpersonal skills
4. Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts
5. Possesses very good problem-solving skills
6. Must be self-motivated and results oriented
7. Able to read and interpret blueprints and other written documents

Other Skills

1. Safe and efficient packaging of finished goods to minimize damage
2. Accuracy and completeness of packaged goods shipped to customer
