Shop Grinder/Blaster- MFG
Summary
Manual manufacturing role preparing pipe fittings for welding by grinding bevels, operating plasma cutters and cutting torches, and using grit/sand blast equipment to finish surfaces. Works in a pipe and supply shop environment with minimal supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use plasma cutter on a turntable to cut elbow halves and de-cap.
- Use hand grinder to grind bevels for elbows to be fit up for welding.
- Use hand cutting torch to cut elbows.
- Clean/Finish all fittings to remove all grinding marks, scratches and surface imperfections using grit blast and sand blast removing equipment.
- Inspect all blast equipment and PPE associated equipment daily before beginning any blasting.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Keep area environmentally clean and orderly at all times.
- Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
- Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.
