Site Reliability Engineer - Level 7 (5-7)

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support Mastercard's Lower Environment Platforms. The role involves application and environment support, release management, automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring platform stability and reliability across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support lower environments, ensuring stability, availability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot Linux, Java applications, middleware, databases, and infrastructure issues.
• Support application deployments, configuration changes, and release validation.
• Monitor application health using Splunk, Grafana, and other monitoring tools.
• Perform log analysis, root cause analysis, and incident management.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, and Ansible.
• Automate environment health checks, deployment verification, and operational activities.
• Support disaster recovery, resiliency, multi-site, and cloud initiatives.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

• 57 years of experience in Application Support, SRE, Environment Support, or Platform Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration.
• Knowledge of Java applications and JVM troubleshooting.
• Experience with Splunk and/or Grafana.
• Good understanding of SQL and database troubleshooting.
• Scripting experience in Python, Shell, or similar languages.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Exposure to Kubernetes, PCF, or Cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
• Knowledge of middleware technologies such as MQ, Tomcat, or JBoss.
• Experience with distributed systems and transaction processing platforms.
• Understanding of DevOps, Agile, and SRE practices.
• Banking, Financial Services, or Payments domain experience.
