About the Role
We're working with a large enterprise looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability, resilience and automation of its cloud infrastructure.
You'll work across an established multi-cloud environment, helping engineering teams reduce manual processes, automate incident response and improve how applications and infrastructure recover from failures.
The focus is on hands-on engineering, scripting and automation, working closely with application and platform teams to improve operational efficiency and system availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated runbooks and incident remediation workflows.
- Reduce manual intervention by automating common production incidents and operational tasks.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Support containerised applications and Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate monitoring and alerting platforms with automated response workflows.
- Develop scripts, APIs and tooling to improve system reliability.
- Improve disaster recovery, failover and resilience processes.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, cloud security and operational practices.
- Work alongside engineering teams to identify recurring issues and implement long-term fixes.
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud or platform engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or GCP, ideally with exposure to multiple environments.
- Infrastructure as Code experience using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu or CloudFormation.
- Experience operating containerised workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, EKS or GKE.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell or Go.
- Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Argo CD or Jenkins.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production infrastructure.
- Experience building automated incident response and remediation workflows.
- Runbook automation or orchestration tools such as Rundeck, PagerDuty, Ansible Automation Platform or similar.
- Event-driven automation and integration with monitoring or incident management systems.
- Disaster recovery automation, cross-region failover or resilience engineering.
- REST API integrations and custom engineering tooling.
- Experience improving cloud reliability, operational efficiency and infrastructure costs.
This is an opportunity to work on meaningful automation and reliability improvements within a complex enterprise environment.
We're particularly interested in engineers who enjoy getting hands-on, writing code and finding ways to eliminate repetitive operational work.
If you've built automation that makes infrastructure more reliable and reduces the need for manual intervention, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
