Our client is a leading global financial services firm renowned for innovation, excellence, and driving strategic transformation across the industry. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join their Business Architecture capability.
In this strategic role, the successful candidate will focus on shaping the end-to-end Fund Accounting (FA) Target Operating Model (TOM), ensuring all initiatives align perfectly with the organization's long-term strategic vision. The individual will act as the vital bridge between business owners, operations, and technology teams, translating complex conceptual needs into clear, actionable functional requirements.
The ideal applicant will have strong Business Analyst experience + Lean Six Sigma experience + financial services experience, ideally with an asset services or asset management background in fund reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Define Scope: Partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to establish clear project vision and scope.
Process Mapping: Conduct operational assessments to deliver detailed As-Is and To-Be process descriptions.
Requirements Analysis: Translate conceptual business needs into functional requirements for technology and business teams.
Data-Driven Insights: Provide strategic recommendations using structured, data-driven methodologies.
Visual Documentation: Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide development.
Business Cases: Actively contribute to building robust business cases for new initiatives.
Drive Automation: Engage with the FA Operations team to spot automation opportunities that align with strategic business and technology directions.
Vendor & Tech Liaison: Work closely with Architecture, Technology teams, and external vendors to resolve functional and technical issues.
Project Management: Apply industry-standard project management tools and techniques to all initiatives.
Reporting: Generate comprehensive management reports and operational Management Information Systems (MIS).

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
Industry Experience: Proven track record as a Business Analyst within a financial services organization.
Core Skills: Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and solutions-oriented mindset.
Methodologies: Hands-on experience with Lean / Six Sigma practices.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and translation skills between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Execution: Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work for a leading global financial services firm. The position will ideally be based in Melbourne VIC, although our client may consider applicants based in Sydney. Initially, this position will be hired on an initial 9m contract basis, with a competitive hourly-daily rate, with the likely option to extend.
