The Senior Sales Engineer is a key technical driver within the KnowBe4 Revenue Organization, responsible for managing the technical sales cycle for mid-market prospects. At this level, you have moved beyond the introductory phase and are expected to operate with significant autonomy. You will act as a technical authority for your assigned segment, ensuring that our products are positioned accurately and integrated effectively to meet customer security goals.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of the full KnowBe4 suite and advanced integrations.
- Tailor the KnowBe4 value proposition to complex customer environments and business needs.
- Deliver high-level, customized product walkthroughs for Mid-Market and complex SMB prospects.
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of products during the POV process independently.
- Support and shadow junior Sales Engineers, providing guidance on technical hurdles and best practices.
- Resolve complex technical blockers, including mail flow, SSO, and API integration issues.
- Provide proactive technical consultation to the Sales team to accelerate the sales cycle.
- Ensure all technical milestones and POV activities are precisely tracked within Salesforce.
- Create and share technical documentation or demo assets to improve team-wide efficiency.
- Actively contribute to sales strategy discussions, offering technical perspectives
- Confidently navigate the end-to-end sales cycle, leveraging sales collateral and collaborating with directors and reps to drive strategy
- Maintain a strong understanding on the competitive landscape to proactively handle objections and highlight key product differentiators
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 year degree or technical degree preferred
- 1-2 years of technical sales or sales engineering experience required.
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Experience with M365 and Exchange Online
- Strong technical background in cybersecurity or related field
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and lead complex sales engagements
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Highly organized and result-oriented
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Can demonstrate technical troubleshooting and analysis ability
- Familiarity with security awareness concepts and mail environments
- Can demonstrate integrity, accountability, respect and commitment
- Strong collaborative and teamwork skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
