SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (Java)
Summary
Develops and maintains Java-based banking applications using Spring Boot, microservices, and SQL, with a focus on transaction processing and system reliability.
Responsibility and Requirements:
- Java (Core, Spring Boot, Microservices), Hibernate
- SQL (query writing, optimization, performance tuning)
- Kafka (understanding of messaging/transactions)
- Exception handling and API security (auth/authorization)
Platform / Tools
- Monitoring: Splunk / Kibana / logs
- DevOps: Jenkins, OpenShift/Kubernetes (basic to intermediate)
- Database: MariaDB or other RDBMS
Functional Knowledge
- Exposure to Core Banking systems
- Understanding of transaction processing and application criticality
- Basic understanding of interest calculations (Savings/Current)
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of ACID properties
- Understanding of scalability (vertical & horizontal)
- Ability to design/debug distributed systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong in Java, debugging, SQL, and troubleshooting
- Experience in production support (L2/L3)
- Ability to handle critical banking applications and P1 incidents
