About Matryx
Matryx is a specialist security risk consultancy with more than 30 years of industry experience. We work with organisations that take the safety of their people seriously and want their security arrangements to work in practice.
We are re-developing RiskDynamyx, a software platform that brings together security risk assessments, incident information, security system performance, maintenance and governance records. It helps organisations maintain a current view of how effective their security arrangements are and where action should be prioritised.
The platform has a working foundation. We are now looking for a developer to help refine and expand it towards commercial release.
The Role
This is a hands on development role, working directly with the director to build and improve our application. You will write and test code, make sound technical decisions and document your work so the platform can be maintained and developed further.
The role is permanent part time from commencement, initially working 2-3 days per week. We expect to discuss the opportunity to move to full time within the first 12 months as the platform progresses towards commercial release. Any change to hours would be agreed with you.
What you will bring
• Solid experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Node.js
• Working knowledge of Python, particularly for data handling and Excel automation
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Experience deploying web applications, ideally using Vercel
• Sound testing and debugging practices, including browser developer tools
• An understanding of web authentication, including OAuth and single sign on
• Strong attention to detail when working with data and checking results
• An understanding of data privacy and the careful handling of confidential client information
Desirable experience
• Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API and Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive and Excel
• AI coding tools, particularly Claude and Claude Code
What we offer
• Permanent part time employment with flexible hours on agreed working days
• Direct involvement in shaping a developing software platform
• The opportunity to move to full time within 12 months, by agreement and to take a lead role in the applications deployment.
• Work that helps organisations make better security decisions and protect their people
How to apply
Send your CV with a short cover note. Include a link to your GitHub profile or examples of your work where available.
Tell us about something you have built, one technical decision you made, and what you would do differently now.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will undergo Police background checks prior to commencement.
