Software / DevOps Engineer — Statutory Board Industry: Public Sector / Government Job Type: Permanent Work Arrangement: Hybrid About the Role: Join GovTech's Government Digital Transformation (GDT) team, forward-deployed to MSF — Singapore's lead ministry for social and family policies. You'll build, modernize and operate digital services that directly impact vulnerable individuals, families and communities. We are hiring across: Software Engineering (SWE)

. Depending on the team, you may specialize in one area or work across the full engineering lifecycle. You'll work on initiatives such as Case Central, ComLink+, the Social Service Coordination Centre and Early Childhood programs — in an environment that spans greenfield platforms and brownfield modernization. What You'll Do: Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs, frontend applications and data pipelines Develop and automate tests, CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCC), containers and IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu) Integrate systems across government agencies, schools, healthcare and social-service partners Improve observability, security controls and operational reliability Modernize legacy applications (Java, Kotlin, platform-based systems) Create reusable engineering capabilities for adoption across MSF teams What We're Looking For - Mindset: Takes ownership end-to-end: from requirements to production support Thinks in trade-offs (speed, security, cost, maintainability) Comfortable with ambiguity and pragmatic problem-solving Strong communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders Cares deeply about code quality, testing, observability and security

Technical Skills: (you don't need all — strong fundamentals matter most): Languages:

Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, C# Frontend:

React / Next.js, Vue, Angular Data & APIs:

REST, GraphQL, SQL/PostgreSQL/MySQL, NoSQL, ETL pipelines DevOps / Cloud:

AWS, GCC, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Terraform/OpenTofu, GitLab CI/CD QA:

Test automation, API testing, CI/CD integration, performance and security testing Other:

Microservices, event-driven architectures, Git, code reviews

Nice-to-Have: Salesforce, OutSystems, Appian, Pega, Microsoft Dynamics, Databricks Platform modernisation or reusable framework experience GCC, Singpass/Corppass, SGTS exposure Government, regulated or sensitive-systems experience
