What you’ll achieve
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Design and develop manufacturing diagnostics software for platforms and peripherals using a range of applicable technologies (e.g. Programming languages, compilers, assemblers and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies. Deliver products within budget, schedule, and quality guidelines. Develop and support applications, databases, diagnostics, scripts, firmware, drivers, and BIOS utilities.
• Develop, test, and integrate code for new or existing software. Provide sustaining or maintenance support to existing software.
• Prepare written software/storage specifications for sophisticated products from architectural diagrams and documents.
• Build and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed.
• Develop, review and implement test strategies for products and systems.
• Clearly communicate project issues and status. Analyse and prepare trend reports on quality metrics. Participate in improving product quality through process and procedure improvements. Manage conference calls with global factories.

Essential Requirements

• Validated knowledge of programming languages (Python and Shell scripting, C/C++)
• Familiarity with a wide array of PC technologies, including basic Intel x86 architecture, Intel ME, RAID, uEFI, firmware and BIOS.
• Ability to code/debug more sophisticated programs using either written or verbal design specifications
• Capacity to achieve proficiency of new tools, languages and operating systems with training and on-the-job experience
• 2-5 years of related experience
  

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
