Software Engineer - Android
One of our biggest clients is looking for a Software Engineer - Android
Duties amp Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness including edge cases usability and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Follow best practices for code quality testing and documentation
Qualifications amp Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Android app development
- Proficient and practical knowledge of design patterns and their implementation in Kotlin and Java
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK different versions of Android and how to deal with different screen sizes
- In-depth knowledge of Android lifecycle for fragments activities practical experience with Agile methodologies SCRUM or Kanban would do
- Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Experience with versioning tools Git and understanding of CI CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- Ability to write new modules using maintainable architecture and participate in code reviewsNice to have experience in leveraging common SDKs e g Firebase Fastlane scripting MoEngage Google Analytics etc
