About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with proven experience in the design and development of Android applications to join our team at our West Melbourne office.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions, including high-quality software. You will have the opportunity to develop new software applications, enhance existing software solutions, and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
In executing this role, you will be responsible for:
Design and Develop Web Applications using React/Next.js, Java/Kotlin, Spring and PostgreSQL
Proven experience in the design and development of Android Applications
Design and develop Windows applications using C#
Design and deploy applications in Linux environments
Design and develop software applications, making specific determinations about system performance and resource utilisation
Document code consistently throughout the development process using Javadoc or equivalent standards
Design, develop, and conduct unit and integration tests to validate application design
Provide assistance to the Verification team to formally validate application design against system requirements
Provide estimates for the team schedule and notify any schedule variances to the Project Manager
Produce all artefacts required for deliverables and internal reviews
Participate in working groups, design reviews, and other forums with customers and end-users.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to discuss, and agree on designs as well as explore improvement opportunities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 4 years proven experience in the design and development of software applications across Android, Windows and Linux platforms.
Experience using version control systems (SVN or Git)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to support a team that develops creative and innovative solutions
The ability to adapt to new tasks, technologies, processes and procedures
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
