What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and maintain software components that support the functionality of autonomous vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and effectively in various environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to define and refine system requirements and specifications.
  • Develop algorithms for perception, localization, and decision-making processes that enable vehicles to navigate complex urban landscapes.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality code.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of software systems, utilizing simulation environments and real-world testing to ensure robust performance.
  • Analyze performance metrics and troubleshoot issues in existing software systems, implementing fixes and optimizations as necessary.
  • Stay current with advancements in autonomous vehicle technology and contribute to the team's knowledge base through research and experimentation.
  • Document software designs, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their technical skills and advance their careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems or real-time applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java, with a strong understanding of software design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with robotics or autonomous systems, particularly in areas such as perception, mapping, or control algorithms.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies, including version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application in autonomous systems.
