Software Engineer AWS
Summary
AWS software engineer role (posted via recruiter Anson McCade) building serverless, event-driven cloud-native applications and internal platforms. Day to day: TypeScript/Node.js services on Lambda, DynamoDB and S3, infrastructure as code with CDK/Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and end-to-end ownership of features including testing and incident response.
Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- We ideally have strong hands-on experience with Node.js and/or TypeScript, alongside modern JavaScript.
- We have experience with AWS, particularly Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and IAM.
- We have experience using Infrastructure as Code with AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
- We have experience with automated testing, ideally Jest.
- We have experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
- We have experience building REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
- We understand cloud security fundamentals including IAM, least privilege and secrets management.
- We have experience with agile software engineering and full lifecycle delivery.
- Experience with React or another modern frontend framework is a bonus.
- Experience with Java, Go, C#, Rust or another strongly typed language is a bonus.
- Experience with internal developer platforms or shared engineering services is a bonus.
- Experience with AWS Connect, voice, telephony or contact centre technologies is a bonus.
- Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kinesis, EventBridge, Kafka or SQS/SNS is a bonus.
- Design, build and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS and SNS.
- Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested TypeScript / Node.js services.
- Build RESTful and event-driven APIs across microservices and distributed workloads.
- Own features end-to-end, from requirements and design through to testing, deployment and incident response.
- Design and manage AWS infrastructure using CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability across production environments.
- Work with AWS IAM, secrets management and security best practices.
- Collaborate with product, platform and DevOps teams to deliver scalable engineering solutions.
