Our software development team at EPSON Canada’s RTSC/NA supports the industrial and commercial markets with high‑end, customized printer and scanner solutions. Products developed here have a global impact.

We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our BIJ (Business Inkjet) team. The successful candidate will focus primarily on driver customization for Epson’s Business Inkjet printers and document scanners, while also assisting with simple firmware customizations (embedded Linux based) as needed.

This role requires a developer with strong programming skills, experience across multiple platforms, and the ability to contribute to diverse software solutions ranging from device drivers to embedded firmware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customize and develop printer and scanner drivers for Windows and Linux environments.
  • Implement firmware adjustments within an Embedded Linux platform.
  • Participate in project planning, design discussions, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including QA, product management, and hardware engineering.
  • Support product configuration and potential client‑specific feature enhancements.
  • Occasional collaboration with global teams, with potential for limited travel.

Mandatory Skills & Requirements

  • Strong development skills in Windows, Linux, and Embedded Linux environments
  • Proficient in C, Visual C++, C#, Java
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated project lead experience
  • Team‑oriented, proactive, and adaptable to evolving technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in printer driver development for Windows and/or Linux
  • Exposure to or experience with firmware development in embedded systems
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
