Software Engineer, Fleet Management

Summary

Build full-stack tools and services for managing a global fleet of autonomous vehicles, covering vehicle health tracking, software/configuration management, and location-based services across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

The role

As a Software Engineer on our Fleet Management team, you'll build the tools and services that let Wayve's engineers and operators manage a global fleet of autonomous vehicles and data-collection devices. The work spans frontend, backend, APIs, cloud services, and data — covering vehicle health tracking, software and configuration management, and location-based services.

You'll work alongside more senior engineers, contributing to technical design and taking ownership of features and services end-to-end.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full-stack features across Fleet Management services.

  • Contribute across frontend, backend, API, database, and cloud service implementation.

  • Contribute to technical design discussions and help deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

  • Write well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.

  • Review peers' code to support quality, consistency, and shared learning.

  • Build and support systems that help Fleet Operations and Engineering monitor vehicle health, configuration, software status, and location.

About you

Essential skills

  • Professional software engineering experience building full-stack web applications or services.

  • Hands-on experience across frontend and backend development, with enough breadth to contribute across the stack.

  • Experience designing or working with APIs, databases, schemas, and backend services.

  • The ability to deliver clean, tested, maintainable code.

  • Familiarity with cloud services, distributed systems, or microservices.

Desirable skills

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, MUI, Rust, Go, Node.js, Kubernetes, Bazel, or Azure.

  • Experience working on fleet management, robotics, autonomy, drone, vehicle, or operational tooling products.

  • Experience with scalable backend systems, monitoring, reliability, or high-volume data workflows.
