Software Engineer, Fleet Management
Summary
Build full-stack tools and services for managing a global fleet of autonomous vehicles, covering vehicle health tracking, software/configuration management, and location-based services across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
The role
As a Software Engineer on our Fleet Management team, you'll build the tools and services that let Wayve's engineers and operators manage a global fleet of autonomous vehicles and data-collection devices. The work spans frontend, backend, APIs, cloud services, and data — covering vehicle health tracking, software and configuration management, and location-based services.
You'll work alongside more senior engineers, contributing to technical design and taking ownership of features and services end-to-end.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain full-stack features across Fleet Management services.
Contribute across frontend, backend, API, database, and cloud service implementation.
Contribute to technical design discussions and help deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
Write well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
Review peers' code to support quality, consistency, and shared learning.
Build and support systems that help Fleet Operations and Engineering monitor vehicle health, configuration, software status, and location.
About you
Essential skills
Professional software engineering experience building full-stack web applications or services.
Hands-on experience across frontend and backend development, with enough breadth to contribute across the stack.
Experience designing or working with APIs, databases, schemas, and backend services.
The ability to deliver clean, tested, maintainable code.
Familiarity with cloud services, distributed systems, or microservices.
Desirable skills
Experience with React, TypeScript, MUI, Rust, Go, Node.js, Kubernetes, Bazel, or Azure.
Experience working on fleet management, robotics, autonomy, drone, vehicle, or operational tooling products.
Experience with scalable backend systems, monitoring, reliability, or high-volume data workflows.
This is a full-time role based in our office Sunnyvale. At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.
The reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $176,500 to $220,800 plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience
