Role Overview
TP ICAP has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build the next generation of the Fusion Platform and make it Global Market Infrastructure. This Software Engineer role will work in a new team building a platform on the latest technology and architecture. You will collaborate with AWS and learn from industry experts.
Role Responsibilities
- Act as a technical contributor on a team, demonstrating good technical competencies and desire to improve toward an independent contributor.
- Participate in elicitation, design, development and testing of software changes or features and support successful deployment into production.
- Contribute to elicitation and capturing of business requirements using techniques such as user stories and use cases.
- Contribute to the development and execution of test cases and associated tasks to assess completion and quality of delivered user stories and use cases.
- Contribute to the delivery of complex systems.
- Communicate architecture and principles behind a system to other team members.
- Support the use of preferred planning and prioritisation tooling to capture and track deliveries, identify issues and help with iteration planning and prioritisation.
- Support the team through active participation in estimation of work by discussing requirements and potential solutions with other team members.
- Learn to recognise patterns in the software systems to have meaningful conversations about wider system architecture.
- Gain an appreciation of evolving systems toward target state architecture through directed refactoring and prioritisation of deliveries.
- Assist with production incidents and support outside regular hours when needed to maintain operational stability.
Experience and Competences
- Full Stack or Front/Backend Engineer experience with Typescript in a professional environment.
- Front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, Typescript, React, Redux, ReactQuery.
- Modern JavaScript frameworks experience.
- Version control: Git.
- Cross-browser compatibility and web APIs (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets).
- CSS pre-processors such as Tailwind.
- Back-end: proficiency in Typescript and/or other OOP languages such as C#/Java.
- Strong database knowledge (SQL and NoSQL).
- Microservices architecture.
- Terraform, automated testing, CI/CD, AWS services (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, AppSync, CLI).
- Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., SOLACE/AMQP).
- Containerization and continuous delivery.
- Agile cross-functional delivery team experience.
- Linux shell or Windows PowerShell.
- Knowledge of financial markets, OTC products, regulatory driven projects.
- OOP, SOLID principles, Software Design Patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Open-source contributions.
- Adaptable communication and ethical work practices.
