About the role

You will join the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) engineering team to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers Singapore government services. This role focuses on developing platform automations and establishing best practices to help agencies deploy secure, agile applications on commercial cloud providers.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and operate the Singapore Government Commercial Cloud platform.
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and NodeJS.
  • Create large-scale automation systems for cloud landing zones across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Implement secure deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps methodologies, focusing on system scalability, availability, and resiliency.
  • Mentor team members and guide other development communities on cloud deployment best practices.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with API and backend development using NodeJS or Python.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks and modern build tools like Vite or Webpack.
  • Experience with CI/CD toolchains, specifically Gitlab and Atlassian.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Git workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborative team culture.
  • Experience with code security and relevant open-source tools.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and their operational challenges.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with Terraform and Bash scripting.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Landing Zones such as Microsoft Azure CAF, Terraform Landing Zone, or AWS Control Tower.
  • Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and using application monitoring tools.
