Software Engineer (Senior Developer)
Location: Singapore.

Responsibilities
- Software Development
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software solutions aligned with project requirements.
- Apply Hitachi Rail software development rules, implementing coding, testing, and documentation to ensure robust applications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical specifications and deliver state‑of‑the‑art solutions.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor junior developers to share knowledge.
- Act as a technical reference for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support project and product management.
- Create training materials and coach junior engineers, fostering open communication and team spirit.
- Supplier Supervision
- Oversee and coordinate activities of external suppliers involved in software development.
- Conduct regular code reviews and supervise progress, providing feedback and corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations, quality standards, and project timelines.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
- 5+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in at least several of: Python, Java, Spring Boot, AngularJS, React, Next.
- Proficiency in relational (Postgres) and time‑series (InfluxDB) databases, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), authorization frameworks (OAuth2, OpenId Connect).
- Expertise in software engineering best practices (CI/CD, branching, version control, testing).
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating system (networking, scripting, debugging, integration).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong proactivity and self‑improvement capability.
- Strong teamwork attitude in an international environment, adaptable to different cultures.
- Ability to support pre‑sale activities, tender proposals, and customer presentations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in supplier management, requirements compliance, and schedule management.
- Experience with Grafana, Airflow, and Kafka is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud platform is considered a plus.
