Software Engineer II
The Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our team developing state‑of‑the‑art applications for enabling our customers to design and optimize their Wi‑Fi networks as easily and effortlessly as possible.
In this role you will be working as a part of a tight‑knit team, developing and maintaining services and platforms that act as the backbone and building blocks of our other applications. You will take part in the technical planning, and will have your say in how things will be implemented. Together with the team, you’ll also contribute to setting the direction for our future software stack and architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- You are able to adapt and further develop our current web application architecture to support new features that require system understanding covering our proprietary measurement devices’ data and control planes, and corresponding data and API architecture in the cloud.
- You can collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to deliver high‑quality features.
- You are enthusiastic about mentoring and guiding junior team members, helping them understand architectural principles, best practices, and effective ways of working.
- You can debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for stable and efficient applications.

- 6+ years of software development experience
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript
- Experience with building scalable solutions and microservices on top AWS
- Experience designing and working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
- Bonus points: experience with modern frontend development with e.g. Vue.js or React
- Bonus points: experience with Kotlin, Scala and Terraform
- Getting things done attitude and a growth mindset
- Good communication skills in written and spoken English
Compensation
Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is €75,000 - €85,000. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
