Summary
Develops and optimizes large-scale compute infrastructure scheduling algorithms using C++ and simulation frameworks to improve resource utilization and reduce operational toil.
As a participant in the Compute infrastructure Control Simulations, you will collaborate with the Compute infrastructure Scheduler teams to enhance Compute infrastructure scheduling algorithms. This involves utilizing scheduling simulation frameworks designed and developed by our team. We seek engineers adept at navigating complexity, with a keen sense for architecture and interface design, who advocate test-driven development and possess investigative abilities. Your work will significantly impact the company by optimizing infrastructure resource utilization and reducing operational toil for Google engineers.

- Implement, debug and enhance various software components for efficient workloads scheduling.
- Develop tools to measure, quantify and fine tune the production load.
- Identify and drive optimizations and improvements to compute infrastructure user experience.
- Design large-scale systems, making the right trade-offs for reliability and maintainability.
- Communication with partners across the Alphabet to gather requirements and drive adoption efforts.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience with refactoring, multithreaded programming.
- Experience with performance analysis and simulation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with Machine Learning.
- Experience with Python and SQL.
