About the role:
NCS Philippines is seeking a talented Software Engineer (Java and Springboot) to join our development team. This is a full-time position based in Taguig City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java-based applications utilising the Spring Boot framework. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and industry standards. This position is integral to our technology strategy, enabling us to build scalable, efficient applications for our diverse client base.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop Java applications using Spring Boot framework, following best practices and coding standards

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to established development guidelines

• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to support modern application requirements

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing

• Participate in debugging and troubleshooting production issues, implementing effective solutions promptly

• Optimise application performance and ensure scalability across growing user bases

• Maintain and update existing applications, implementing enhancements and bug fixes as required

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development

• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making processes

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)

• Proven experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot framework

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns

• Experience building and consuming RESTful web services and APIs

• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL query optimisation

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git

• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle

• Knowledge of testing frameworks and practices, including unit testing and integration testing

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment

• Preferred experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Preferred knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Preferred experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

• Preferred familiarity with Agile development methodologies
