Job Description

We are looking for a Backend Engineer – Node.js to help build and maintain scalable backend systems and next-generation loyalty platforms. The role involves developing secure and reliable APIs, optimizing backend services, and contributing to architecture and platform improvements.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in Node.js backend development, cloud technologies, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance backend applications and related system components

• Design and implement scalable services capable of handling high-volume transactions

• Develop secure and reusable RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations

• Participate in code reviews, deployments, and technical discussions

• Implement automation tools for testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerts

• Perform load testing, analyze results, and recommend optimizations

• Contribute to architecture design and technology decisions

• Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, DevOps, and product teams

• Support platform stability, resiliency, maintainability, and performance improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in application development using Node.js

• 5+ years of backend development experience

• Strong experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs

• Proficiency with Relational Databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL

• Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Redis

• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as Jest and Mocha, including tools like Chai and Istanbul

• Experience with Git and version control best practices

• Experience creating and deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms

• Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architecture

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud providers

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or loyalty platforms

• Experience developing applications using Java, Golang, Scala, or Python

• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as ReactJS, Vue, Angular, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

• Knowledge of mobile development using Flutter or native technologies

• Experience supporting large-scale production systems
