Infor is hiring a senior software engineer (6–8 years) in Hyderabad for its HRT Payroll team to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade payroll features in its HCM product. Day-to-day work centers on Java, microservices, REST APIs, API Gateway, OAuth, SQL, and the LPL framework within Agile/Scrum.
Infor is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Payroll to join our HRT Payroll development team in Hyderabad. This role requires a strong software engineering background combined with a good understanding of Payroll functionality and end-to-end Payroll processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java, microservices, APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth, along with experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Prior experience developing Payroll/HCM solutions or experience working as a Payroll specialist/domain expert is highly desirable.
The engineer will work on the LPL framework(java based), and collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Analysts, QA, customers, and other engineering teams to design and deliver scalable Payroll capabilities.
We are looking for someone with strong critical thinking, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, along with an interest in AI concepts and modern AI development/productivity tools.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Payroll functionality for the HRT application.
- Develop scalable solutions using Java, microservices, REST APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth-based authentication/authorization.
- Work with the LPL framework to develop and enhance product functionality.
- Apply Payroll domain knowledge when designing and implementing Payroll features and business rules.
- Work closely with Business Analysts and Product Management to understand complex Payroll requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in solution design, technical discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate effectively with QA, Product, customers, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve complex product issues.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills when analyzing functional and technical problems.
- Contribute effectively within an Agile/Scrum development environment using tools such as Jira.
- Leverage AI concepts and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.
- Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices, design standards, and overall code quality.
- Strong software development experience with Java and enterprise application development.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, API Gateway, and OAuth.
- Good understanding of Payroll functionality and Payroll processing concepts.
- Prior experience working on Payroll/HCM products or Payroll-related applications, or previous experience as a Payroll specialist with strong technical capabilities.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum software development practices and tools such as Jira.
- Strong debugging, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with technical teams, Product Management, Business Analysts, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and Payroll functionality.
- Experience developing enterprise Payroll or HCM products.
- Deeper functional knowledge of Payroll concepts such as earnings, deductions, taxes, calculations, retroactive processing, and Payroll business rules.
- Experience with the LPL framework/language is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of AI/Generative AI concepts and hands-on experience using AI development or productivity tools.
- Experience working in a SaaS or enterprise product development organization.
- Relevant Payroll or technology certifications are an advantage.
