Software Engineering Manager

Duferco is expanding its Corporate Innovation Team to hire an engineering leader who will drive AI-assisted development, set high-leverage workflows, and improve engineering effectiveness.

You will mentor engineers, shape coding standards, tooling, and delivery practices while hands-on with AI-native software delivery. Hybrid Milan-based role offering flexibility and rapid impact across projects.

Establish engineering best practices around AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows. Drive adoption of modern AI development tooling and autonomous agents. Improve velocity and code quality through AI-assisted review, testing, refactoring, documentation and automation. Define and evolve workflows for AI-native software delivery, including PR review standards and coding conventions. Mentor engineers on AI coding tools, balancing speed with maintainability and reliability. Collaborate with teams to adopt practical AI-native engineering approaches and tools. Experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams in fast-moving environments. Active daily use of AI coding tools and strong opinions on leverage and human judgment.
