Summary
A Software Firmware Engineer builds software platforms, tools, and SDKs that let customers and internal teams interact with implantable neurotechnology hardware. Day to day this means embedded development on platforms like STM32/Raspberry Pi, hardware interfacing (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet), and building customer-facing applications and automation tools using C++, Python, and JavaScript/TypeSc
Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience working with embedded hardware platforms such as STM32, Raspberry Pi or similar
- Familiarity interfacing with hardware using protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB or Ethernet
- Experience building SDKs, APIs or customer-facing software tools
- Experience with automation, testing and debugging workflows
- Ability to work closely with hardware, product and applications teams
- Exposure to GUI development, JavaScript, TypeScript or scientific instrumentation environments is advantageous
- Build software platforms, tools and SDKs that enable customers and internal teams to interact with our hardware
- Develop customer-facing applications, automation tools and evaluation platforms
- Work at the intersection of software, hardware and product development to bring complex technology into real-world use
