Detailed Job Description

Own the end-to-end application and integration architecture for customer transactions flowing from digital channels through APIs and CDS services into Emirates enterprise systems and external chauffeur/service-provider platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define solution, application, integration, data-flow, deployment and security architecture.
• Translate customer journeys and functional requirements into scalable, secure, resilient and supportable solutions.
• Define architecture artefacts including context, component, sequence, data-flow and deployment diagrams, plus Architecture Decision Records.
• Lead architecture and technical-design reviews; manage risks, dependencies, constraints and technical debt.
• Guide Full Stack Developers, integration teams and engineering leads on patterns and standards.
• Support design, development, testing, production readiness, go-live, stabilisation and root-cause analysis.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years in enterprise application and solution architecture for complex customer-facing digital platforms.
• Microservices and domain-driven architecture, including bounded contexts, service decomposition, communication and API contracts.
• API-first architecture: REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, API gateways, versioning, authentication/authorisation and lifecycle management.
• Enterprise integration patterns across synchronous, asynchronous and event-driven flows; Kafka, Solace, JMS and SnapLogic or equivalent iPaaS.
• Modern stacks including Java/Spring Boot and React/TypeScript.
• Cloud-native architecture: Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, scalability, configuration/secrets, availability and resiliency.
• Relational/NoSQL databases and caching; OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, RBAC, certificates, encryption and data protection.
• NFRs covering availability, performance, scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, observability and disaster recovery.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps; logging, monitoring and tracing using Splunk, Dynatrace or equivalent.

Preferred Domain Experience

• Airline, travel, transport, mobility, logistics or complex booking platforms.
• Real-time eligibility, availability, capacity, address/geolocation, service-area, vehicle selection and routing services.
• Integrations with reservation, loyalty, CRM, payment and external suppliers, including failures, retries, reconciliation, amendments, cancellations and disruption handling.

Ability to make end-to-end solution decisions rather than focusing mainly on hosting, infrastructure or governance.
