Solution Architect (Onsite - Edmonton)

We are seeking a Solution Architect to support a modernization initiative within a large public sector organization's court technology services portfolio. This role provides architecture leadership, application lifecycle management, business analysis, and solution delivery oversight across multiple applications and digital services. The Digital Architect will establish common standards, reusable capabilities, and sustainable operating models while supporting the modernization, enhancement, integration, and ongoing support of court applications and services.

This position requires someone who can lead solution and enterprise architecture activities to support the design and governance of applications, data, integration, security, and technology domains across the portfolio. The role involves developing current-state and target-state architecture roadmaps, defining architecture principles and standards, producing architecture artifacts including solution designs and technical assessments, and supporting architecture governance and technical reviews. The Digital Architect will guide implementation and support of digital services by providing hands-on technical leadership to development teams, application analysts, support teams, and vendors; reviewing technical designs, code implementations, integrations, and deployments; and mentoring technical resources. This role also leads business and systems analysis activities including discovery sessions, requirements elicitation and documentation, process modeling, and translation of business objectives into technical requirements. The Digital Architect will support Application Management Services and operational excellence by providing architecture oversight for applications in production, participating in incident reviews and change advisory processes, and identifying opportunities to reduce technical debt. Additional responsibilities include contributing to architecture governance and standards development, supporting vendor and procurement oversight, supporting data and analytics initiatives, and communicating technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
• 8+ years - leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads.
• 5+ years - architecting, managing, and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• 8+ years - identifying and assessing requirements within multiple architecture domains including business, application, technology, data and information, security, and privacy.
• 7+ years - documenting application architectures in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to a large public sector organization.
• 7+ years - planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to a large public sector organization.
• 8+ years - providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presenting ideas and solutions.
• The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification.

Nice to Have

• 5+ years - collaborating with data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services.
• 5+ years - contributing to or developing application architecture standards and guidelines.
• 5+ years - working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) hub architecture registries.
• 5+ years - working as an application architect developing solutions using amCharts charting framework in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to a large public sector organization.
• 5+ years - working as an application architect developing mobile solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to a large public sector organization.
• 5+ years - working with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top Ten Web Application Security Flaws.
