- Define and drive a future-ready architecture roadmap for the Order Management and Processing domain, aligned with business growth and international expansion.
- Lead the transformation from monolithic systems to a microservices-based architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Own the end-to-end architecture of order management systems, including: Order capture and validation, Order orchestration and lifecycle management, Payment integration and processing, Inventory and fulfilment coordination, Returns, cancellations, and post-order flows
- Define and enforce architectural principles and patterns, including: Domain-driven design (DDD), Event-driven architecture (Kafka/RabbitMQ or similar), API-first design (Open API standards), Microservices and containerization.
- Architect high-performance, fault-tolerant systems capable of handling large-scale order volumes across multiple channels.
- Design and standardise integration patterns between order systems and external/internal services such as payment providers, Warehouse and logistics systems, Marketplace platforms, and customer and inventory systems.
- Establish data consistency and reliability strategies, including eventual consistency, idempotency, and distributed transaction handling.
- Define observability, monitoring, and alerting strategies to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to ensure alignment with overall platform architecture.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding design decisions and best practices.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies and tools to improve system scalability, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.
