Get to Know the Role

As the Solution Manager II, People Systems, you will be the functional owner for assigned Workday modules and a leader within the People Systems team. You will set the functional vision, roadmap and operating standards while leading a team of Workday specialists across Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, Learning, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, and Reporting. You will manage assigned Workday modules end to end, combining solution delivery and operational support across tickets, enhancements, releases, major projects, and continuous improvement.

You will build and develop a high-performing team, manage the delivery portfolio and drive clear priorities and outcomes. You will lead complex transformation initiatives, strengthen governance and controls, improve employee experiences and maximise the value of Workday across Grab.

This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager, People Systems and will be based onsite at our Bangalore office.

You are comfortable starting work at 7:30 AM IST to accommodate meetings and collaboration with regional teams across different time zones.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Lead the Workday functional team, establishing clear priorities, delivery standards and growth plans.
  • Own the Workday functional roadmap and solution design for assigned modules, including cross-module dependencies.
  • Own assigned Workday modules end to end, including BAU support, SLA and backlog management, ticket and incident resolution, enhancements, releases, and major project delivery.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday configurations, processes, reports and controls.
  • Govern the full solution lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, UAT, release management, deployment, documentation and hypercare.
  • Ensure the reliable delivery of critical People processes such as employee lifecycle management, compensation cycles, talent processes, reporting and organisational changes.
  • Build trusted partnerships with Technology, Security, Data, Payroll, Finance, People teams and vendors to ensure data integrity, resolve issues, mitigate risks, maintain compliance and deliver secure, connected Workday solutions.
  • Identify and lead the adoption of agentic AI opportunities across Workday operations, including workflow automation, requirements analysis, testing and knowledge management, while ensuring appropriate human oversight, data privacy and governance.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • 10+ years of experience in HRIS, HR technology or People Systems, including 5+ years leading Workday solution delivery teams in a regional or global environment.
  • Functional expertise in Workday Core HCM, with broad experience leading solutions across Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, Learning, Absence, Time Tracking, Security and Reporting.
  • Experience leading at least two end-to-end Workday implementations, in addition to major enhancements, upgrades or global rollouts.
  • Experience building teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management, capability building and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships and procurement activities for software tools and professional services, including spend tracking and commercial coordination.
  • Knowledge of Workday configuration, business process design, reporting, security, data governance and testing, with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Experience managing Workday and People Systems audit activities, including preparing audit evidence, maintaining controls, supporting internal and external audits, and driving remediation of audit findings.
