Summary
12-month contract Solutions Architect role (hybrid, 2 days/week in Reading) via Hays Technology for a defence client, paying £675/day outside IR35. The architect provides technical assurance, design governance, and documentation across Microsoft Azure and high-assurance on-premise defence networks, requiring active SC clearance.

Requirements:- Active SC clearance as a minimum
- Demonstrable experience designing, reviewing, and assuring Microsoft Azure environments, including cloud architecture, security controls, and configuration practices
- Strong background working with high-assurance on-premise defence networks, including architecture, accreditation processes, and technical governance
- Excellent technical writing skills, with experience capturing and defining requirements for complex and highly sensitive systems
- Provide technical assurance of the clients capabilities and associated changes across a mixed environment comprising Microsoft Azure and high-assurance on-premise defence networks
- Produce and maintain supporting technical documentation required to evidence assurance activities
- Oversee the technical assurance and delivery aspects of the digital estate throughout its lifecycle, including development, migration, enhancement, deployment, and retirement of services across service management, service deployment and release, and system implementation
- Establish and document technical requirements for the clients digital platforms, including systems operating within highly sensitive environments
- Assess and assure new and existing capabilities, as well as programme changes, reviewing technical evidence, designs, and artefacts provided by suppliers
- Contribute to design assurance activities, technical reviews, and testing events, offering clear and constructive technical feedback
