As we expand our regional footprint, we are seeking a Solutions Engineer to support our commercial team by providing technical expertise throughout the customer engagement lifecycle.
Job Summary
The Solutions Engineer serves as the technical interface between customers and Digital Halo's commercial, engineering and operations teams. This role is responsible for understanding customer technical requirements, developing tailored colocation solutions, supporting bid responses and ensuring proposed solutions are technically feasible and commercially aligned.
The successful candidate will work closely with hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure customers and enterprise clients throughout the sales process, from initial technical discovery through contract award and solution handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Commercial team during customer engagements, acting as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle.
- Gather and analyse customer technical, operational and business requirements.
- Develop technical solutions covering:IT power requirementsRack layouts and densitiesWhite space planningMechanical and electrical infrastructureNetwork connectivitySecurity and compliance requirementsAI and liquid cooling deployments where applicable
- Prepare solution proposals, technical presentations and customer documentation.
- Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Construction and Operations teams to validate proposed solutions.
- Support RFPs, RFIs and due diligence questionnaires from hyperscale and enterprise customers.
- Review customer technical specifications and identify compliance gaps or risks.
- Produce technical drawings, capacity models and deployment recommendations.
- Support contract negotiations on technical schedules and service descriptions.
- Ensure seamless technical handover from Sales to Project Delivery and Operations after contract award.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends including AI infrastructure, high-density deployments, liquid cooling technologies and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in one or more of the following:Data centre engineeringSolutions engineeringTechnical pre-salesInfrastructure architectureCritical facilitiesCloud infrastructure
- Experience working with hyperscale cloud providers, colocation providers or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of:Data centre power and cooling infrastructureRack power densitiesNetwork architectureRedundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N)Availability and resiliency design
- Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute, TIA-942 and relevant sustainability frameworks is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and working across regional teams.
