We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist interventional radiologist to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of minimally invasive image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of image-guided interventional radiology procedures, including:
- Vascular and non-vascular interventions
- Angiography and angioplasty
- Embolization procedures
- Image-guided biopsies and drainages
- Central venous access and vascular access procedures
- Percutaneous nephrostomy and biliary drainage
- Tumor ablation procedures
- Interventional oncology procedures, where credentialed
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.
- Evaluate patients before procedures, obtain informed consent, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide post-procedure care, monitor outcomes, and manage procedure-related complications.
- Collaborate with vascular surgeons, oncologists, hepatologists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, and other specialists to optimize patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and contribute to complex case discussions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, radiation safety, and clinical governance standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education (CME).
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, radiology residents, and radiographers where applicable.
Requirements
Qualifications & requirements
- MBBS/MD with a recognized postgraduate qualification in radiology.
- Fellowship or board certification in interventional radiology (or equivalent recognized specialist qualification).
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience as a specialist interventional radiologist.
- Eligibility for or possession of a Department of Health (DOH) – Abu Dhabi specialist license. Candidates eligible for licensing are encouraged to apply.
- Expertise in vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and image-guided minimally invasive techniques.
- Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience working in internationally accredited tertiary care hospitals.
- UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Additional expertise in interventional oncology, neurointervention, peripheral vascular intervention, or hepatobiliary interventions is an added advantage.
