Opportunity Summary:
Sheppard Pratt Schools located in Glyndon, Towson, and Hunt Valley are nonpublic schools serving students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Disability, Intellectual Disability, and Multiple Disabilities. Our students benefit from a collaborative interdisciplinary approach, where they receive individualized academic instruction and related services (counseling services, speech-language therapy, and occupational therapy) based on their IEP.
Eligibility Requirements:
Student must be enrolled in an accredited SLP graduate program.
Opportunity Time Frame:
This opportunity is for our summer term, beginning in May and ending August 1st. The internship will consist of approximately 32 hours per week.
Learning Model:
- Direct supervision
- Feedback provided by licensed SLP
- Direct 1:1 modeling of expectations and procedures for interventions
Student Expectations:
- Daily feedback regarding planning and intervention implementation
- Create lesson plans
- Write therapy notes
- Collaborate with other professionals
- Seek learning opportunities
