Introduction & Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable SQL Server Migration Specialist with extensive experience in planning and executing Microsoft SQL Server migrations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing migration projects and a strong grasp of database administration, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. Proficiency with SQL Server environments, particularly 2016, 2019, and 2022, alongside technical leadership capabilities, is essential for the success of this role.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute Microsoft SQL Server migrations to strategic database platforms.

• Provision and migrate standalone SQL Server environments to resilient Hotel solutions.

• Lead end-to-end migration activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and support.

• Act as the primary technical coordinator between application and infrastructure teams.

• Configure, administer, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments.

• Design and maintain HA and DR solutions based on Always On Availability Groups.

• Perform SQL Server performance analysis and optimization.

• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing activities.

• Ensure migration activities align with governance and risk management processes.

• Automate tasks using PowerShell where appropriate.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration (2016/2019/2022).

• Proven track record of delivering SQL Server migration projects.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • SQL Server Always On Availability Groups

  • Windows Server Failover Clustering

  • Backup and recovery solutions

  • SQL Server performance tuning

  • HA and DR configurations

• Experience coordinating complex technical initiatives.

• Good understanding of IT governance, change management, and risk management.

• Practical experience with T-SQL.

• PowerShell scripting and automation skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL Server migration tools and methodologies.

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms.

• Experience with performance and capacity management.

• Experience in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
