Engineering | Coolidge, AZ | Full-Time
About Lucid
At Lucid, we are creating an electric future without compromise. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. We build world-class vehicles by pushing performance, efficiency, and design beyond industry limits, setting new standards with vehicles like Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity.
The people here, engineers, designers, operators, and builders, came from across industries and around the world because they wanted to work on a harder problem. They care deeply about mastering their craft and delivering work they're proud of. We trust you to take ownership, push beyond what is expected, and help write the playbook for what comes next.
By refusing to settle, you help shape the future of electric mobility and prove what's possible when craft and ambition refuse to compromise each other.
The Role
Driver assistance features are among the most visible parts of a customer's ownership experience, and among the hardest to get right in the real world. This role exists to make sure ADAS quality risks are identified, understood, and resolved before they reach customers, from vehicle launch through the life of the fleet.
As a Sr. Field Quality Engineer, ADAS, you will be the field quality technical owner for Lucid's driver assistance features across current and future vehicle programs. You will investigate ADAS concerns from customers, service, fleet, pre-production, and production vehicles, reproduce them on the road and on the bench, drive root cause across sensors, calibration, software, manufacturing, and suppliers, and confirm that fixes work in the field. You will sit at the point where ADAS engineering, manufacturing, service, and the customer meet.
Success in the first 12 months means faster resolution of ADAS field concerns, fewer customer-impacting ADAS issues through the Project Nexus launch and ramp-up, and stronger ADAS calibration, diagnostic, and service processes for Lucid's next generation of vehicles.
What you will find here that you will not find in a comparable role elsewhere is direct ownership of ADAS field quality on a platform still being shaped, with a short path from what you find in the field to the engineers who change the product.
What You'll Own
ADAS Field Issue Investigation
- Own the investigation of ADAS concerns reported by customers, service, fleet, and production, including false or missed activations, feature unavailability, sensor faults, degraded performance, and warning or HMI issues across adaptive cruise, highway assist, lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, blind spot, park assist, and related features.
Issue Replication & Data Analysis
- Reproduce issues on customer, fleet, pre-production, and test vehicles through targeted drives, bench testing, and log replay.
- Analyze vehicle logs, sensor data, camera footage, fault codes, and telemetry to separate sensor, calibration, software, integration, manufacturing, and environmental causes.
Sensor Calibration & Alignment
- Investigate camera, radar, ultrasonic, and lidar calibration and alignment issues across end-of-line, service, and in-field conditions.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Service to improve calibration processes, targets, tools, and verification.
Technical Root Cause & Corrective Actions
- Lead structured root cause investigations (8D, Fault Tree, Fishbone) through closure.
- Partner with ADAS Systems, Software, Perception, Electrical, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to develop, validate, and confirm corrective actions, including over-the-air software fixes.
Launch & Production Readiness
- Support ADAS readiness through prototype, pilot, pre-production, Start of Production (SOP), and ramp-up for Project Nexus and future programs.
- Identify ADAS launch risks early, support containment, and confirm fixes before they reach customers.
Field Data & Fleet Monitoring
- Turn warranty claims, service data, telematics, feature usage, and fleet health metrics into ADAS trend analysis, issue prioritization, and risk assessments.
- Define the signals and metrics that catch ADAS issues early.
Software Release Verification
- Confirm that ADAS software and calibration updates resolve targeted field issues without introducing regressions.
- Track fix effectiveness after release to the fleet.
Supplier & Cross-Functional Interface
- Work with ADAS sensor and ECU suppliers on field returns, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
- Translate field findings into clear technical problem statements supported by data and engineering recommendations.
Service & Diagnostic Improvement
- Recommend improvements to ADAS diagnostic strategies, service and calibration procedures, and repair processes to reduce repeat repairs, vehicle downtime, and service complexity.
Safety Escalation
- Escalate ADAS issues with potential safety impact quickly and with complete data, supporting Lucid's functional safety and regulatory processes.
