Sr. Integration Engineer, Microsoft 365 (USI9)
Summary
Senior hands-on engineer who owns Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant integrations for newly acquired companies at VSE Aviation — from assessment and planning through migration, cutover, validation and hypercare. Works daily with Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID and PowerShell; field-based with ~80% travel to acquisition sites.
SUMMARY:
The Sr. Integration Engineer, Microsoft 365 is responsible for leading the planning and execution of Microsoft 365 and related cloud service integrations for newly acquired companies into the VSE enterprise environment. This role owns the integration through lifecycle from tenant assessment and readiness planning through migration, cutover, validation, and post-implementation support.
Serving as the technical lead for assigned integrations, this highly hands-on senior individual contributor works directly with acquired-company stakeholders, internal IT teams, business leaders, and third-party vendors to develop migration strategies, manage risks and dependencies, coordinate activities, drive integration to successful completion. The position is field-based: travel to acquisition both domestic and international sites is required approximately 80% of the time, including overnight, weekend, and on-call coverage during go-live and hyper care periods.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Own and drive the Microsoft 365 integration lifecycle for assigned acquisitions from assessment and planning through migration, cutover, validation, and post-implementation support.
- Lead Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant assessments, evaluating Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, identity, domains, licensing, applications, and technical dependencies.
- Develop and manage integration plans, migration strategies, schedules, dependencies, risks, remediation activities, cutover plans, and success criteria.
- Plan and execute Exchange Online tenant-to-tenant migrations using BitTitan MigrationWiz or similar tools, including mailbox migration, domain transition, mail flow, and post-migration validation.
- Plan and execute OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and applicable file-share migrations using ShareGate or similar tools.
- Support Microsoft Entra ID and Azure tenant integration and develop PowerShell automation for assessments, data collection, migration preparation, validation, and reporting.
- Lead migration testing, production cutovers, issue resolution, validation, and post-migration hypercare while minimizing business disruption.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned integrations, coordinating stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, communicating status and issues, and maintaining required integration documentation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- Or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of a degree
- 7+ years of progressive experience supporting Microsoft 365, cloud services, systems engineering, or similar enterprise technology environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex Microsoft 365 migrations or integration initiatives from assessment and planning through cutover and post-migration support.
- Hands-on experience administering and migrating Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration tools such as BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, or similar technologies.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Active Directory, and identity and application integrations using SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and SCIM.
- Experience with DNS and domain management, including domain registrars, DNS records, domain verification, and domain transitions supporting Microsoft 365 and application integrations.
- Proficiency with PowerShell for Microsoft 365 administration, automation, assessments, reporting, and migration activities.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop technical plans, manage risks and dependencies, coordinate stakeholders, communicate effectively with technical and business teams, and drive complex integrations to completion.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally and work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required for migration cutovers and post-migration support.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Microsoft 365, Azure, or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Experience leading Microsoft 365 integrations for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or organizational consolidations.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with migration platforms such as BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 domain transitions, mail routing, identity integration, permissions, licensing, and application dependencies.
- Experience developing PowerShell automation for Microsoft 365 and Azure assessments, migrations, validation, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex migration cutovers, make independent technical decisions, solve problems, and drive integrations to successful completion.
