SUMMARY: The Sr. Integration Engineer, Network & Systems is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the infrastructure integration of newly acquired companies into the VSE enterprise environment. This role owns and manages the integration lifecycle from site assessment and readiness planning through infrastructure deployment, systems migration, cutover, validation, and post-implementation support. The engineer collaborates closely with internal teams, acquired-company stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure network, wireless, server, connectivity, and physical infrastructure are successfully integrated and aligned with VSE standards. This highly hands-on role is field-based: travel to acquisition both domestic and international sites is required approximately 80% of the time, including overnight, weekend, and on-call coverage during go-live and hyper care periods.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate infrastructure site assessments with the site survey vendor and other partners to evaluate network, systems, telecommunications, cabling, power, MDF/IDFs, server rooms, and overall site readiness.
  • Develop and manage site readiness plans, identifying infrastructure requirements, dependencies, risks, remediation activities, and timelines required for successful integration.
  • Coordinate with telecommunications providers, facilities teams, electrical contractors, and low-voltage vendors to provision internet circuits and ensure power, UPS, cabling, racks, and other physical infrastructure meet VSE requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of network and systems equipment and stage, configure, validate, and install equipment at acquired locations.
  • Design, configure, and deploy LAN infrastructure, including switches, VLANs, routing, DHCP, DNS, and related network services in accordance with VSE architecture and security standards.
  • Coordinate predictive wireless surveys, configure and deploy wireless access points, and conduct post-installation validation with wireless vendors to optimize coverage, capacity, and access point placement.
  • Assess acquired-company server and systems infrastructure and migrate or integrate physical and virtual servers, applications, and infrastructure services into VSE data center, cloud, or other approved enterprise environments.
  • Support migration and integration of services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file and print services, virtualization platforms, and network applications.
  • Perform infrastructure cutovers and validate network connectivity, wireless coverage, system availability, redundancy, failover, data integrity, and business functionality.
  • Integrate infrastructure into VSE monitoring and management platforms and maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, circuit information, equipment inventories, and site documentation.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders throughout the integration lifecycle, communicating risks, dependencies, issues, and schedule impacts while providing onsite and post-implementation support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
    • Or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of a degree
  • 7+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, including designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise IP networks.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise switching, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience coordinating infrastructure deployments involving telecommunications carriers, structured cabling vendors, electrical contractors, and other third-party providers.
  • Working knowledge of MDF/IDF infrastructure, copper and fiber cabling, server racks, UPS systems, electrical requirements, and physical infrastructure standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, project coordination, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple technical activities, vendors, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% domestically and internationally, including extended onsite assignments when required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required for infrastructure integrations and cutovers.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Cisco, Microsoft, Azure, VMware, or other relevant infrastructure certifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SNMP, routing and switching.
  • Experience designing, configuring, and supporting enterprise wireless infrastructure, including predictive and post-installation wireless surveys, RF coverage, access point placement, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience migrating enterprise server infrastructure and services, including Active Directory, file services, print services, and network applications.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure integrations, office buildouts, relocations, or large-scale site deployments.
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions while working independently in dynamic onsite environments.

OTHER:

  • 80% of travel required.
  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
