Sr. IT Software Engineer – Tableau BI

Senior engineer building and maintaining Tableau dashboards and BI reports, leading SDLC projects, and mentoring junior engineers in a manufacturing-focused IT environment.
We are looking for a Sr. IT Software Engineer – Tableau BI to design, develop, and support enterprise-level business intelligence and application solutions. This role focuses on Tableau dashboard development, application support, and end-to-end SDLC execution, while providing technical leadership and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, test, and support Tableau dashboards and BI reports based on business and technical requirements
Translate business needs into scalable and effective application and reporting solutions
Execute all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support
Troubleshoot and resolve application and reporting issues raised by business users
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
Prepare and maintain technical and project documentation
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and immediate superior
Analyze and improve existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness
Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and programming techniques
Supervise, mentor, and review performance of IT Specialists / IT Software Engineers (including OJT, as applicable)
Support ad-hoc IT initiatives and collaborate with other Knowles IT teams and global sites
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related IT/Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of experience in dashboard and BI development, preferably using Tableau
Hands-on experience supporting and implementing multiple applications using full SDLC methodology
Strong expertise in Tableau, with exposure to Power BI
Experience working with databases, preferably Oracle and PL/SQL
Familiarity with MS SQL Developer tools
Working knowledge of the following technologies: ASP.Net (MVC), C / C++, Visual Basic, HTML, Java, JavaScript
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an advantage
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
