Sr. Machinist Technician/ Tool & Die Maker

Position Purpose:

Senior Machinist Technician:

Perform general machining functions of the Tool Room in support of various departments throughout the plant.

Tool & Die Maker:

• Perform maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of Compound, Progressive, Coin Dies and Fixtures
• Fit and assemble parts to repair or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools
• Provide support for new projects, engineering projects & new tooling requirements
• Operate Tool Room shop equipment (ex: Mills, Lathes, Grinders & Drill Press)

Hourly or Salary Range: $28.00 -$38.75

Essential Functions:

• Perform detail machining responsibilities
• Provide support for new projects, engineering projects & new tooling requirements
• Maintains Environmental, Health, & Safety standards in the workplace
• Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations
• Work with entry level machinists
• Manage project timeline requirements

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
• 7 plus years job experience
• Ability to manage time efficiently

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments
• Basic math skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Able to work well with others
• Ability to manage time efficiently

Physical Demands:

• Ability to bend, twist & lift repetitively
• Ability to lift 30 – 50 pounds occasionally
• Environmental Conditions
• Eye protection is always required.
• Hearing protection is always required
• Exposure to hot & cold temperatures
• Exposure to metal working fluids
• Exposure to noisy conditions
• Steel toe boots with metatarsals are always required
