Sr. Product Manager, Developer Platform and APIs
Sr. Product Manager, Developer Platform and APIs
Alianza's Intelligent Communications Fabric gives service providers a path to modernize voice networks and deliver AI-infused experiences on top of them. Delivering on that depends on people outside Alianza being able to build against the network: Experience Providers today, and a broader developer audience over time.
This role owns that surface. It covers the APIs Experience Providers integrate with, the platform experience around them, meaning how someone gets access, gets oriented, and gets to a first successful call, and the work of growing a developer audience that does not exist yet.
This is a build-from-scratch mandate. The APIs exist and are already carrying real partner integrations. The platform around them, and the audience for it, are still to be built. The person in this role will bring structure and a well-informed point of view to that space, working in close partnership with engineering, legal, and the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
Experience Provider APIs
- Own product definition for the APIs Experience Providers integrate with, including integration contracts, onboarding and lifecycle APIs, and new partner-facing APIs as the program expands.
- Turn recurring partner integration needs into reusable platform capability rather than repeated one-off work.
- Partner with engineering on API design, versioning, deprecation, and backward compatibility as the surface grows.
- Define how third parties obtain and manage access, including credentialing and the permissions model around programmatic access to network data.
- Extend into adjacent platform APIs where developer-facing needs lead, as the platform and the program mature.
Developer Platform and Experience
- Define the path from first contact to first successful API call, then systematically reduce the friction along it.
- Establish how developers get support, in partnership with customer success and support.
- Build the feedback loop from usage data and direct partner input back into the roadmap.
Developer Audience and Adoption
- Build the audience from a standing start: define who the developers are, what brings them to the platform, and what keeps them building on it.
- Define and track the adoption metrics that matter, such as activation, time to first successful call, and active integrations.
- Work with product marketing and sales engineering on enablement, launch moments, and developer-facing content.
- Represent the platform in external partner and developer conversations.
Cross-Functional
- Partner closely with engineering on technical feasibility and sequencing.
- Coordinate with legal on data privacy, IP, and partner agreements where they touch platform access.
- Work with commercial stakeholders on packaging and pricing of platform capabilities.
- Contribute to and improve the frameworks the broader product team uses for partner and developer enablement.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning API-first, platform, or developer-facing products.
- Demonstrated experience defining and shipping partner- or developer-facing APIs, including the documentation and onboarding experience around them.
- Experience building or materially contributing to a developer portal, API documentation set, sandbox, or self-service onboarding flow.
- Comfortable building structure where it does not yet exist, and motivated by early-stage platform work rather than optimizing a mature one.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, legal, and commercial teams.
- Voice or telecom domain expertise is not required. Alianza will support ramp-up on voice architecture (ICF, Core, Fusion, Alianza One) for a strong API-background candidate.
Preferred
- Background in UCaaS, CPaaS, or other large-scale distributed cloud communications platforms.
- Experience with consent, privacy, or authorization and policy enforcement systems.
- Experience integrating a product following a merger or acquisition.
- Prior experience at a startup or scale-up building platform or partner-facing products.
