Staff Fullstack Engineer - Realtime

Summary

Staff Fullstack Engineer at Treasure AI building AI-native realtime and personalization systems using React, Ruby/Go/Java, and distributed architectures while integrating AI tools into the SDLC.

About Treasure AI

Treasure AI is the agentic experience platform that acquires, retains, and grows your most valuable customers. Powered by AI and driven by human creativity, the platform delivers continuous, context‑driven action.

Your Role

We are looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to join our high‑performing team at the intersection of Realtime and Personalization products. You will help drive the technical direction as we build an AI‑native system, developing industry‑leading solutions that empower marketers to build in new ways.

In this role you will act as a high‑level individual contributor and technical anchor within a squad‑based model. While your core expertise may lie in complex frontends or robust distributed backend systems, you possess the architectural vision to design and mentor others across the full stack. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role based out of our Vancouver office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end‑to‑end technical architecture for product features, making high‑stakes decisions that balance speed of delivery with long‑term maintainability.
  • Leverage AI‑powered discovery and productivity tools (e.g., Glean, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate development cycles, synthesize internal documentation, and surface architectural context across the organization.
  • Champion AI‑native engineering workflows by integrating generative AI into the software development lifecycle—from automated unit testing and agent‑accelerated code flows to drafting comprehensive technical specifications.
  • Ensure squad unblock for both frontend and backend work, providing technical guidance to peers.
  • Deeply focus on design across the entire stack, ensuring consistency in React application structure and backend implementation.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to deliver projects on time, breaking down complex requirements into executable engineering tasks; serve as a tech lead for a squad when required.
  • Mentor senior and mid‑level engineers, modeling best practices in code review, design patterns, and operational excellence.
  • Build with scalability, observability, and security in mind; join the on‑call rotation and treat production operations as a first‑class citizen.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping complex products.
  • AI fluency and proven ability to integrate AI‑assisted development tools into daily workflows.
  • Proactive mindset toward AI adoption, comfortable experimenting with emerging AI‑powered systems.
  • Deep proficiency in backend development (Ruby, Go, Java, Kotlin preferred). Experience with database design, API scalability, and distributed systems or LLMs in production is a strong bonus.
  • Strong architectural knowledge of the React ecosystem; able to mentor engineers in React best practices.
  • Thrives in agile, collaborative environments and actively removes blockers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or integrating generative AI/LLM solutions into production workflows, especially with agents.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Experience working in global teams, coordinating across time zones.

Physical Requirements

Working out of our Vancouver, BC office according to our “Global Hybrid Working Policy.”

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be required to meet team and stakeholders for off‑sites.

Perks and Benefits (CAN)

  • Competitive compensation packages
  • Restricted Stock Units (RSU)
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid volunteer and mental health days
  • Up to 26 weeks paid parental leave including a post‑partum night nurse
