Staff Software Engineer (Backend)

Build and maintain backend systems for a security platform that automates threat detection and remediation using Python, cloud services, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities
- Execute complex backend software engineering projects focusing on APIs, data processing, infrastructure, and platform
- Drive the execution of key engineering initiatives
- Foster a culture of technical excellence
- Author technical proposals to document and align teams on complex project designs
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend, platform, or system programming
- Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem
- Experience designing and building multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a production setting
- Experience with relational databases in a production setting
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in system design, data architecture, and data modeling
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mathematical Optimization (e.g., route planning, scheduling)
- Experience with Logic/Relational Programming (e.g., Prolog, Datalog)
- Experience with batch or streaming data pipelines
- Experience with platform engineering and IaC tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK
- Experience with Control Systems Engineering
