Staff Software Engineer (Spring Framework) - Contract

Job Responsibilities:
Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions while adhering to established software engineering standards and best practices.
- Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable application designs and software solutions.
- Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
- Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards and software engineering best practices.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with enterprise systems.
- Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, and technical feasibility assessments for application enhancements and new features.
- Develop and execute unit test cases and support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production support activities.
- Investigate and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks through root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to application performance, reliability, and development processes
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications based on business and technical requirements.
- Strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or Apache Tomcat.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
- Experience developing microservices-based applications.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, application performance tuning, and debugging.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
