Staff Software Engineer

You will lead the design and development of scalable full-stack applications and backend services. You will make architecture decisions, build services with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Rust, MongoDB, and GCP, improve reliability and performance, and mentor engineers through technical leadership and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack applications and backend services
• Drive architectural decisions across application, API, and platform layers
• Develop production applications and services using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Design and optimize data solutions using MongoDB and NoSQL databases
• Contribute to application and backend development using Rust
• Build and support cloud-native solutions on GCP, including BigQuery
• Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Translate requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional partners
• Provide technical mentorship and influence engineering standards
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience operating at Staff Engineer or equivalent senior technical scope
• JavaScript and TypeScript experience
• Full-stack application development experience
• Node.js experience
• Production experience with MongoDB and NoSQL databases
• GCP and cloud-based application development experience
• BigQuery experience
• Software architecture and distributed systems experience
• Experience developing scalable APIs and production services
• Debugging, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills
• Rust experience
