The Company has been established for over 25 years as a specialist in steel fabrication, located in the heart of the Gold Coast
CBD. They provide a holistic array of services including; assembly of
complex steel components, structural steel testing and fabrication across the construction, commercial, heavy industries and
public sectors. Having developed a successful industry reputation, they
have been recognised within the industry for being a local leading
specialist; delivering a dependable service in their exceptional level
of workmanship and quality steel fabrication.
Due to their extensive year-on-end growth within the industry, the
company is now seeking to employ an additional Estimator
that can take onus of the position and make it their own.
About the Position…
Primarily the position requires the submission of project quotations
for structural steel, where you will be required to achieve targets for
wining projects and tenders. You will need to have the ability to read
and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings, including technical
specifications.
Further duties include:
- Provide timely quotations, estimations for projects and reports on progress.
- Follow-up with clients regarding project requirements and estimating submissions from warm leads provided.
- Perform steel quantity surveying and collate information onto bills of quantities for review and analysis.
- Communicate effectively with relevant industry professionals to achieve the winning bid.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability in estimating from a
fabrication background (trade or university are equally regarded) along
with experience in estimating infrastructure and industrial related
projects. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the
following;
- Be able to understand infrastructure and industrial projects – not just limited to construction.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally Microsoft Project as well.
- Possess a ‘go-getter’ attitude that is willing to pursue and negotiate quote conditions to win the work.
- Prior experience in having a fabrication, engineering or drafting background will be beneficial.
- Experience in using a
Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) is highly advantageous, to keep track
of pricing and feedback.
