Position Summary

ATI is currently seeking a Finance Intern for our Accounting department at our Natrona Heights Operations. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting accounting, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and other finance-related activities within an industrial/manufacturing environment. This internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business situations while developing practical accounting, analytical, and professional skills.

The intern will work closely with members of the Finance and Accounting team and may interact with Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other departments to support business and financial objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial reports, schedules, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing activities, including gathering data, preparing journal entry support, and researching account variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze actual financial results compared with budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Support cost accounting activities, including analysis of manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and variances.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities as needed.
• Compile and analyze operational and financial data using Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.
• Help prepare management reports, presentations, and financial summaries.
• Assist with internal controls, audit requests, and documentation.
• Participate in projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and financial reporting efficiency.
• Work with Finance and Operations personnel to understand how production activities affect financial performance.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Perform other accounting, finance, and business-related projects as assigned.
